While more details are still under wraps, the report suggests that the project is in the early stage at the moment, and the makers will start hunting for a writer following Rowling’s confirmation to be on board.
Reportedly, the series will be directly based on the author’s best-selling book series, with each of the seasons following the seven novels in the series, suggesting that the show will continue for years at the studio.
The ‘Harry Potter’ series will be produced by Warner Bros. Television.
While the HBO Max rep declined to comment to the publication, it is being said that the Warner Bros Discovery CEO, David Zaslav has been meeting Rowling over the last few months to lock the deal, which will give the latter a degree of creative involvement in the project, however, she will not serve as a primary creator or showrunner on the series.
